Marks and proofs

A working wall of swatches, torn tests, and a folded poster, where a job finds its colour before it reaches the press.

Before a file is declared print-ready, colour has to be seen on paper. This wall is the usual middle of a job: ink tests, a painted mark, and a fold of the poster pinned beside them.

It is not decoration. It is how a DTP artist keeps a job honest. What looked right on the monitor is checked against the stock that will actually print.
