Botanical ink study

A poster built as a print object, with colour, margin, and paper first, and type left out so the mark can carry the sheet.

This study starts in Illustrator as a set of botanical shapes, then is reduced until only the ink needs to sit on the sheet. Carmine, indigo, and gold are mixed as print colours, not screen hexes, so the poster can go to solvent or UV without a second redraw.

The kraft ground is part of the design. Cream margins act as the bleed and the breathing room. What you see here is the sheet as it would leave pre-press: one image, one paper, ready for a short run.
